You should know that Acorns 2 Oaks is not a school, we are a Tutoring Program. We are here to assist you once you have made the decision to homeschool. By choosing to be a homeschooling family, you are not only responsible for seeing that your child’s education is complete, but also in compliance with the Louisiana Department of Education Standards. We strongly encourage you to educate yourself to Louisiana laws. Here is a great place to start. Simply click here to our “Reference Information” to start your journey.
As your child begins the 7th grade, they are reaching major crossroads, not only educationally, but physically, emotionally, and mentally as well. With all this going on, it’s up to parents to keep them focused on learning during these years. Our Saplings Program will assist you in expanding the skills mastered in elementary classes as well as nurture new and exciting skills surrounding their curriculum. This is the time to encourage growth and a bit more independence, while still keeping a watchful eye.
Our Saplings Program will focus on reinforcing skills learned thus far and looking ahead as we prepare for the higher level learning that high school courses will require. As we journey through these two years with your child, Acorns 2 Oaks hopes to encourage you to allow your student to grow in maturity and continue to explore exciting options for their future.
Remember, even though we need to keep them focused on education, physical activity and the Arts are just as important. At Acorns 2 Oaks, we offer both. Your student can sign up for Health & Physical Education classes weekly and take advantage of clubs and elective courses offered.
Our 7th and 8th grade Sapling students are offered a variety of courses, scheduled according to your child’s needs. Group and Private tutoring classes are also available.
